ORC Laundry Reveal
Well-Well-Well. The One Room Challenge (ORC) Laundry Reveal is here. The time during the project always flies by. First let me say, ladies and gentlemen, that we are halfway through 2022. Can you believe that!!!??
Let’s Recap the Room
Before we get to the reveal, let’s recap the past weeks. Starting with week one of the project, I was still waiting for my wallpaper samples to arrive. Having the samples in my hands was a must before making a selection. Knowing this was the inspiration for the laundry room. This wait took me well into week 2. Once the wallpaper arrived, the excitement to test them out on the wall was high. In the second week, I took the time to clear out the project space and revisited my design. Why is it always harder to design for yourself? With the laundry room cleared, light fixtured and wallpaper ordered I was in a good place. The items were in stock and I knew they will arrive in a timely fashion.
At this point, at the halfway mark I am awaiting the contractor to come in and complete the cabinet work. I needed to remove the builder-grade, the wall repaired, and the cabinet installed. This is around the time I had to take a break to finish a client’s install. After finishing up this design installation, I was back in ORC mode. The paint selection. Deciding which color to pull from the wallpaper wasn’t easy. The wallpaper is beautiful and fun. So I went there. I decided to go with Sherwin-Williams (SW 6178) Clary Sage. Despite another project interruption scheduled. It was important to keep the project moving. Under the circumstances, I decided to hire a painter to knock out that task. This helped me save some time and energy. Once the painting was completed, the wallpaper installation commenced.
Pause on the Work
Ohh, is that the finish line? PAUSE ON THE WORK! As we are heading into WEEK 7. I had to break to assist with a 6 unit design installation over 5 days. That was hard work and dedication to see that through. To clarify, I knew this project was on my schedule. Now it is really time to push my home ORC project. I was confident I would be able to finish on time. Especially with the extra day during the Memorial holiday weekend. Queue the styling and the finished project.
The Laundry Reveal
Seeing this project through was a pleasure. Who said you can’t have fun when doing laundry? Every space in your home deserves some love. Remember to make it yours, no matter how simple or bold…EMBRACE YOUR LUXURY.
In short, another home project was completed by participating in the one-room challenge. This is truly my way of turning my house into a home. I am thinking of my small backyard for the next round. We will see. Tell me what you think of this one-room challenge laundry reveal.
