Until It is Not
Listen, it’s all great until it is not! Having said that, it is my job to find solutions. I understand when something is part of the plan until it is no longer. The selected wallpaper is no longer available on the paper finished I wanted. You heard right, discontinued paper choice. Yes, that means another pivot in my design.

At this rate, the reveal might be your first look at this challenge. I’m smiling, but serious. I am still moving full speed ahead and working to execute this transformation. My entryway deserves it. In this episode of the One Room Challenge, I revealed my first look at my mood board on Instagram (photo below). Soon after the reveal is when I received the news about the paper selection. I am good with change. It just took me a minute to make another final selection after the first pivot. One thing for sure, I am still enjoying adding character and improving the builder-grade finishes. You have to believe in the process. It is what we tell our clients. Tricorn Black is not just going on the front door. You won’t see that until the final reveal. That is a piece I haven’t changed.

It Is All Great
It’s no sweat, it is all great. I will pivot my way through and meet my personal needs of creating something beautiful. That is the good thing about a pivot. You can turn and spin as many times as you need to and get back on track. You know as you make an unexpected change, you have to look at the design as a whole. Does it still work and make sense? The major selections are on the way. A good thing is with the new design, I shopped my home for artwork. The art will work great in the entryway’s new design plan. This is like episodes of Good Girls. Those ladies can never catch a break. If they do, it may last for two seconds. Do you watch that show? Beth, Rub, and Annie know how to find trouble, find a solution, and back at square one. It is a good show.
Next week’s episode
Stay tuned to find out if there is a win in next week’s episode. It is time for a winning streak. Catch up on last week’s blog here.

As I follow other participants, I see that I am not the only one having to pivot. It’s not how you start but how you finish. See the progress of the other ORC featured designers and guest participants? Click here https://www.oneroomchallenge.com/orc-blog/
